thanks for reply..

thinking i offically broke the game thou...when i first unzipped the file thru download(which was a one use file extract) from website, it gave me a bunch of files not folders i put them in the il2cliffs of dover file in steam, which caused launcher crash...

downloaded another file to see the files so i could manually take them out and that zip download gave me 3 folders, which i put into il2cliffsofdover file in steam thinking it would overwrite everything, still got launcher crash, so i started manully taking out files that came with extracted file, still getting launcher crash... so i dont know what to do know ... im lost...

dont know how to launch game in window, so havent tried that ..
thanks for any replies

uninstalling and reinstalling thru steam, just resulted in everything going back to the way it was all screwed up..

would just like to get everything back to the way it was, not knowing at the time steam would automatically install patch when released thinking i had to manually do it,,,,

If you go to Steam Library , right click on IL2 COD and then go to properties and select Verify Cache Integrity it should bring ANY file in your install back to the latest official patch standard.

Thank you for all your hard work, but please forgive me if this sounds silly but the folder named parts do i drop the whole folder into my "1C SoftClub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover" folder ??? thus giving me an extra folder named parts

yes.. they will merge and you will not end up with 2 parts folders.. just tick replace file when the option pops up

I don't get it. Yesterday I posted some results with this beta installed (after first verifying cache etc)...all seemed good. Today I load up the game without making any changes to anything whatsoever, and the game is performing very sluggishly again and stutters have worsened again.

So frustrating.

Same problems here, sound seems to disappear altogether after awhile along with afore mentioned problems exiting multi-player.

Strangely single player seems allot smoother and graphics look better, however in multi-player am now getting a great deal of stuttering.
