Can't get external views in track file?

I recorded a track of myself flying home across the channel with half a wing last night. But during playback, despite ticking the right boxes, I couldn't get it to switch to an external view.

It was recorded in the Syndicate's server which has full real settings so my suspicion is that track files are being similarly restricted. Is this a feature or a bug?

Ive had the same problem mate, would be nice so you can view battle damage ect, cant see any reason why it would be a feature? hoping it is a bug.

the system in the other IL2 was simpler and better... why change things which are good?
