Actually I can shoot much more effectively now that I got the control sensitivity worked out(see my thread in the controls section). But that doesnt mean the AI isnt still completely ridiculous. Two aircraft a mission is about right, sometimes I get 3 when lucky.

We all learn something new every day. Don't worry, we'll make an 'ace' out of you yet - just keep an eye out for your '6'

Ugh! I'm really trying to enjoy playing this but I cannot until the AI is fixed. Back to 1946...damn.

Ok I went into the FMB and had a look at the AI planes in the mission I was flying.

There are different skill settings you can choose from Ace Veteran and a few others.

The mission I was flying Somthing over Dover cant remember the exact name.

The skill leval was set to different which isnt even a option in the drop down box when you click on it.

I changed it to veteren and saved it.

The AI dosnt fly so crazy in that mission now but it does evade and attack still.

My point is you can change the way AI flies in the missions if you dont like the crazy way the default settings are.

And if you want to mess with the quick combat missions all you have to do is copy and paste them into the folder with the single missions .

That way you can set your loadouts and adjust settings in them missions in the FMB.

Are you suggesting that modifying the AI level will make them abide by the laws of physics? I don't think so...

The AI sucks. Completely crazy barrel rolls have driven me back to 1946.

I flew a 109 v spit dogfight last night. I bagged one spit and spent the next 5 mins dogging E/A locking onto one and managed to stick with him. The next few mins I emptied my guns into him only taking good shots from 4 to 7 o'clock. He just kept up his defencive maneuvers. He was leaking oil, the fuselage was peppered with holes and the wings had large holes in them right where control linkages would be.

Some one suggested it may take time for AC to go down so I followed for another 15min. I then jumped into his body and looked through his eyes and found he was badly wounded. The screen was so red you could only just make out the instrument panel. there is no way I could have evaded an enemy AC in that condition.

Sorry don't care what some may say the AI and damage model is flawed.

Exactly ... I highly doubt there is an AI function that says "DO/DO NOT FOLLOW LAWS OF PHYSICS". I'm sure the AI still cheats on other difficulties but it's not as obvious.
