Dear Luthier,

Even if you were to make other " mistakes" trying to fix things rapidly, how could we possibly be mad about that ? We know you and your team are doing your best to fix things up...Its up to us now to help you give the simfans the best WW2 game ever...So please, don't apologize...

Best Regards,

Robert

Hello Ilya and team:

I have just installed Cliffs of Dover today for the 1st time. I have everything set to "Medium" in details, Resolution 1920 x 1200. No graphics problems to report, and I find the game to perform comparably to FSX w/Acceleration with all scenery sliders on maximum, very playable with occasional slow-downs. Here is my system:

Specs in sig...
@ 1600 by 900 (down from 1080p)

VERY HIGH (NO AA) over sea = 8 - 40 fps -> 24 - 110 FPS average 80, with planes 40 to 50+
Overland >still unplayable, but more then playable @ high distant flights

Dog fighting is now possible, AI seem less retarded. (campain and quick flight was unplayable)
Fixed frame rate overall, land and sea by roughly double with forests turned off and buildings reduced, way less stutters but still a few.

After Multicore optimisation 2/4 core's constant use, I think performance will again double over land and buildings will not magically apear.

Shadows/roads etc are still eating frames.

I don't know what the heck happened ... removed two x 460 sli'd/ put in my long waited for eVGA 580/ fired up COD, to my sirprise Steam downloaded the COD update and crikey - my frame rates doubled to tripled, most of the stutter was gone (though I had forgotten I set visibility from 3 - 2) the gluggy feeling with F10 engaged was gone and no FPS his with it enabled.

ftm, I've only been running the first two Quick Missions, over sea and over land (with grass off) and AA off and I noticed a lot more desktop resolutions available in menu.

cheers and thanks 1C

I guess its based on number of objects on the map I I've been getting a better rrate in Multiplayer, averaging about 45 rather than 35 for the single missions.!

Cheers!

After Steam installed the patch, I get this error from Launcher.exe every time I try to play. It's a show-stopper!

So can we officially say that the "Panic" mode can officially be put behind us? From the reports it appears that this patch has made SIGNIFICANT progress towards getting the game optimized. The good news is that the game is FAR from optimized.. It might sound crazy at first, but in reality it means that the developers will be able to make fairly large improvements in the future.. Fixing SLI and X Fire as well as maybe some Multi Core support would reap large rewards.

Default Lost Update Help

Seam may have updated my game with the patch but I am not sure as I had to do a system restore and everything was rolled back to yesterday version.
Although steam is showing the patch details my version of the game is still the previous version.

Is there a solution?
