as i said posiibly oil, but i hadnt taken any damage from enemy planes, and unless oil (red oil)just decides to vacate your engine at will..

It might have been hydraulic oil, in the below picture you have 3 different types of aviation hydraulic oil. My dad used to work as a heavy machines operator before he retired and the machines required hydraulic oil to be re-filled and it was also pink colour:

possibly, although im secretly hoping it is bird strike . its a shame i didnt get a screenie or take a video. maybe next time.

There's a video on youtube of this happening, It comes from the engine and is a sort of dried blood red colour. I think addman is right and that it's hydraulic fluid or maybe even the coolant (dunno if that was red though)
