Default Long distance navigating

Spent almost the last 4 months only viewing the Cliffs of Dover forum pages...and after realising I'm going to have to shell out a LOT of cash on a new rig plus ait for the bugs to be ironed out I thought I'd get back into 1946 to get the feel for flight simming again.

Just about got the hang of full realism but really struggle on the longer missions without landmarks for navigation (i.e. the flat grasslands)

Does anyone have any tips for lond distance navigation on full realism (i.e. no maps icons or mini path for targets that are 20mins+ away)?

Thanks

Gribbers

Compass and asking the ground controll for the vector to your target or vector to the base. That is the most easy I think.
