More importantly, looking at the tracers you get a good example of what they had to remove and were only able to put in a very basic place holder in their place.. The cockpits, the models, etc. are truly works of art..but that won't matter for the reviews.

I am the biggest IL2 fan around, I just built a new system anticipating this game, I still play IL2 1946 and I can honestly say that this game is not ready for prime time.. I would even argue that it is not ready for Beta testing in its current form..

Ubisoft was out of their minds to go forward and force this game out the way it is.. If there was ever an example where they should have made an exception and not worried about the filter, this is that case. The reviews are going to be brutal.. Falcon 4.0 Brutal.. 50's and 60's out of 100 Brutal.. Any revenue that Ubisft would have made is going to get flushed down the toilet because of their decision. Any development money they have been paying for the last 6 years has been wasted unfortunately.

I bought a Russian version and I'll buy a western version..but I don't expect this game to be any where near ready for play for at least a year.
I don't have the game until Friday, but have you deselected the epi filter by adding the line into the config.ini this needs to be done where steam stores your details, you also need to turn off cloud saving in the steam preferences, then reboot steam, more fps can be gained by turning off the mirror and complex engine management, here is a link to more info on this
