Not as painful to watch as the other clips as its shot in bright light so you can actually see a bit more through the crappy youtube compression. The chap doesn't spend 3minutes trying to down a hurricane with just mg either.

This actually has some bomb impacts in this one which I had yet to see. I was hoping for a few more bell and whistle effects such as pressure waves and physics on the environment but I suppose its not a major thing.

dude!!!

That first one with the takedown of the spitfire was STUNNING!!!

I mean really... WOW!!!

The ingame damage effects are extraordinary! Fantastic! Actually that clip was like flight symphony! Awesome! I cannot wait to get my hands on it this week!

I'll do you all a favor and try to fraps up some requests of yours!

I'm curious to how the game will run on my rig.

Specs :

Intel i7 960 quad-core @ 3,2ghz (turboboost @ 3,8ghz)
12GB DDR3 1600mhz Corsair ram
1 EVGA GTX 570 slightly overclocked

I'll be focusing on the damage model, both towards AI and on the receiving end

Can't wait!

Watched this 10 times already. Seems like the fire evolves/spreads too. As he is looking over his right shoulder as the spit leans in, you can see 2-3 new types of smoke erupting from the spit. Probably engine fire caused some other system failures and maybe started lighting up the fuel tank infront of the instrument panel causing the pilot to crash. Don't know, but this is like a damage-model sandbox from what I can tell

Epicness!

I don't think the in-cockpit sounds are unreasonable. Now, the sound quality in this video isn't great, but it gives an idea. Keep in mind that my camera and I had no hearing protection (4:00 ish and onwards)

It's a muffled, but still loud, roar with a sort of whooshing sound. So, basically, the sounds aren't far off. Maybe they should be just a little higher-pitch with more piston noise given the engine position.

If you compare to other flight sims, such as the highly praised A2A Spit, the sounds are also similar. (11:00)

Now, the exterior sounds are definitely underwhelming, but I don't think they're final.

I spotted that one too, it's like the situation was getting progressively worse for the AI pilot

This guy is actually flying with complex engine management enabled too, good one. He's the same guy who uploaded the Heinkel vid (good demonstration of the reworked external cameras). He takes the time to show more in-depth stuff than most "QMB dogfight on arcade settings" videos that we've been seeing, like actual gameplay mechanics (the gunner's hood opening in the 110, the gunner shaking during maneuvers, etc)

Lixma's videos were also very encouraging, especially the one demonstrating a high speed pull-out in a 109 and how the needles jolt around at high speeds along with the camera shake, really gives you the impression that your aircraft is about to break up in mid-air. There's more nice touches in his vids like showing the 109 slats in action, the whiskey compass taking some time to settle after maneuvers and so on.

They were not rock steady smooth in regards to FPS (which means they are not made with the in-game video tool that prevents FPS loss and as such they are a realistic benchmark) and there are some strange things happening from time to time, but it definitely looks playable on a small scale to me for such an early stage (meaning, small skirmishes until i learn the ropes and they have time to patch some stuff).
More and more each day i get the impression that all this game needs is a couple of months and a few patches. That Blenheim (yes, of all things ) skimming the tree-tops was awesome
