Umm the sounds in BoB are quite different from those in Il-2, but I doubt Vaal actually edited the videos and changed the sounds so you probably are hearing sounds from BoB.

We couldn't record a real DB 601 though. We recorded some similar Russian engines, as we did for the original Il-2, which is why they probably sound similar. I just watched a couple of Vaal videos and launched Il-2 alongside. The Emil in Il-2 sounds a lot different.

Just a video of a 109 from inside and a fly-by would do.

thanks Luthier.

I own ROF and all of the IL-2 series. (Also Wings of Prey).

I'll be buying CLOD when it is released in US...though I hate that particular increasingly seen acronym.

It's good to see friendly professional relations between Jason and Ilya, specifically, and the ROF Team and IL2 Team generally.

To the maximum extent possible, I set up my programmable Key and Button controls the same for both Sims, as that facilitates going back and forth between them. I only have to adjust for the different tactics and 'speed' of the two eras, WWI and WWII.

I think cross-fertilization of ideas and techniques can only improve Flight Sim products and success, and enhance profitability for all concerned. It's not a "Zero Sum" game, as they say.

It's all good!

Which IL-2 sounds different to Vaal's videos? Cliffs of Dover or '46?

A video with outside and inside sound would do it all for us thousands worrying about the sound in these videos.

Please let's not turn Jason's good luck thread into a sound cluster*

Start a new thread?

IL2 + RoF = BFFs forever, OK? I mean it!

Yeah, planes flying past your position don't have sound ... in your dreams maybe.

Luthier, your offer is highly accepted. Please give us this side by side comparison.
