Do you think that the folks at Maddox Games are having fun changing the release date?! Those poor ba$tards have worked like crazy to deliver the finest combat sim and I am sure there are valid reasons for the delay, so let them do their job!

U can't wait?! Get your ass to a museum, read a book, watch Dark Blue World, build a model, colour some album, but don't give us all this $hit about your daily tantrums, this is a forum meant for information, it's not your psychologist couch..

uh and all of you who keep on playing the annoyed spoiled child saying "if it's not released on that date I'm gonna cancel my order and get Super Mario 3 instead" no you won't! If you're enough of a loser to place a pre-order and still believe the release dates that they tell you on the website you will still cling onto it.. and even if you really do.. well who gives a flying f**k!!

Enough is enough!!
"Wheel in the Vasoline, this one's ready for our corperate defense team!"

Most of their titles appeal to a younger generation than most of us, who are used to service or expect the same high standards they give in business or they don't survive. Sterjaeger you are completely right in that it will not make a difference we will all still buy the flight sim but they do need to be more professional. I would never deal with a company like UBI in a business enviroment, they would never pass my lifetime customer value test.

Many many years ago, when the original IL-2 Sturmovik came out, I was so in love with the thing that I decided to create the first Italian community for it. I went to register a domain and funnily enough nobody thought about registering il2sturmovik.it which I promptly did and put up the first Italian site, quite functional and with an active community. After several months I received an email from ubisoft italy saying that they would move a legal action against me because I was using the name of the sim on a domain.. I was like "erm.. wake up ladies, it saddens my heart to give you this info but it doesnt work like that for internet domains".. you know, if they played it friendly I would have had nothing against it, but then they realised the size of the bullshit they were saying, so came back with a more friendly and supportive attitude..

The truth is that I really really do hope that software distributors like Ubisoft would die and rot in hell.

They serve little or no purpose, if not to aggravate and stress the developers (ubi vs maddox is our perfect example) and they only cause to increase the price tag of a game.

Steam is what I reckon the future should be like, and Im sorry for he box collectors out there, but that's the past..

Cannot comment on Steam but I do like having a physical object to handle for my dosh if possible. I bought WOP on DVD and the discs made great beer mats with pics of Spittys on em....

.
Ubi is not a distributor, it's an editor. They buy games from studios , sometimes other editors. they also finance games for some studios.
without financing from editors, certains games would not be released (not saying it is the case for Il2 or Cliffs of Dover, I do not know the investment capabilities of 1C or Maddox Games)
They also make their own games. Wether you like these games or not is another question.

Their (Ubi's) attitude towards you & your site (doesn't exist anymore?) was certainly poor to say the least, but since you do not know anything of the relationship between Ubi & Maddox, no need to elaborate on this.
Saying it is a perfect example without having any real information (only an external perspective) is quite a stretch.

It happened to me, too. I remember that my post deleted by an admin was about an IL2 modder's plane smoke tail, which, I said, looked like clouds of volcanic ash, and was therefore not realistic.
