Default What is STEAM?

Given there is such a furore here about STEAM (and on the Ubi forum at http://il-2-sturmovik.ubi.com/cliffs...log/uk/?p=1162), I thought it might be useful for those who have never used STEAM, nor know anything about it, to become enlightened.

I'll admit I am talking from a position of ignorance, never having had anything to do with STEAM, but it seems to me that there are a lot of people sadly cutting off their noses to spite their faces over this.

However, the purpose of this thread is to invite brief, well reasoned posts (no rants please!) to enlighten/inform the ignorant about STEAM.

Thanks

PPanPan

Steam Australia has a comprehensive range of commercial steam cleaners and steam cleaners for home. Our steam and vacuum machines are suitable for a range of cleaning tasks. Vapour steam cleaners are the most effective and environmentally safe method of cleaning kitchens and bathrooms. Steam Australia’s steam cleaning machines are also a most effective method for chewing gum removal from all surfaces including concrete, pavers as well as carpet and upholstery. The number of applications of using a steam cleaner is immense.

lets just wait and see, we are all getting a bit "tense" lately. I'm starting to get a bit sick of getting home from work and spending 30 minutes reading the new posts and at the end of it being none the wiser about the game itself

But hold on, what if I have a sofa in the UK that needs cleaning? Then what do I do? Or what if I have a carpet designed in the Soviet Union, bought from a store in the USA but then used in a second home in France? Can I still get it cleaned?!
