Windows98 Second Edition. No joke. But it's modded, runs faster than WinXP or Win7. I have KernelEx installed, makes XP/Win7 only apps install easily on Win98SE. I also have the "Revolutions Pack" installed, which makes Win98SE recognize up to 4GB RAM easily. I run Opera internet browser.

Currently using XP for my gaming PC but have Win7 64bit OS available to install. What advantage would there be in upgrading given that I would have to add another 4Gb of memory and CoD, Il2, WOP, etc all run happily on XP? If there is an advantage let me know and I will insert the disk and upgrade.

Seems the simmer community has slightly over average systems.
(us vs steam)

72% vs 45% W7: +27%
9% vs 24% Vista: -13%

-> DX11 capable systems: 81% vs 69%

47% vs 15% DX11 GPU: +32%

Given the fact some many people here have a DX11 OS, I think it's realistic to guess about 90% of the DX11 cards are also in a DX11 OS, which would result in
-> 42% DX11 users.
That is way over average.

Vista 64

I would like to have W7 64 but upgrading from XP did cost 140 euro's and soon after W7 arrived. Would again have to fork out 150 euro's. I can't keep up with the arrival speed of new baked OS's. Still i'm quite happy with Vista. Installed once in 2008 and still working fine. Never had that before with any OS, be it Windows or Mac.

edit: or Atari
