Will 4.10 provide full screen rendering at 1920x1080? If so how?
If not it is still an excellent sim...

S!

IL-2 has no native support for WideScreen, unfortunately. Hopefully some day But you can get the screen to cover the full screen without the annoying black edges very easily.

First go to IL-2 folder and look for a file named conf.ini and open it with NotePad. At the top of the file you see the resolution etc. There is a selection SaveAspect=1. Change it to SaveAspect=0, save and exit. Now you have full screen, only loading screen and menus have the black edge, but in game it is full screen.

I hope this helped.

Look up a util called San's FOV changer as well. It can change the aspect ratio to widescreen or even 3x widescreen if you use triplehead/nvidia surround or ati eyefinity. I use it and love it when I play IL2. Just a heads up.

Il2 was originally programed to use 4x3 resolutions, (and even has native support for triple 4.3 res... but that's another story).... and is different altogether from what I'm referring to.... check out his page.

I would have to read this a few times to better understand it but it certainly looks like what I need. How do you find this stuff???
