Default Cannot open pak file, cannot launch game

I bought this game off of Steam (looks really cool, can't wait to play) and whenever I launch the game it tells me

"Cannot open pak. (resource/entity/e1.pak(eiostream.cpp,155)

---

main"

It tells me this in a window that pops up when launching it. I can see the men of war title screen in the background, but when I click ok in the error window it just shuts the game down.

I figured I would need some kind of software to read the "pak" files that are present in this game, but google hasn't been a big help.

Help would be much appreciated! thanks

Default

possible steam didnt download e1.pak correctly.
delete & download game new again.

...or possible same problem as with MoW:AS and Steam

Q: The game crashes on start up saying it can't open a file, what can I do?
A: Your download isn't entirely finished. Go to your Steam Library, left click on MoW:AS - preferences, local files, synchronize integrity of game cache. After that Steam will download all unfinished files.
