In kb:the legend I used exclusively a stack of knigts + mana well + ressurect and some other units in the last battle.
I have just discovered that and entered this thread to write about it
I wonder why I did not have such ideas last time I played

I added this trick to the list as it is really powerful and not hard to use...

I added a trick based on transmute skill. (taking extra units only to get mana)
Do you think it is a good one?

A rather nice way to use Black Dragons with out loses is with Rune Mages. Their Resurrection spell can heal ANY living unit, including Black Dragons. It's a one time cast spell but with a big enough stack of Rune Mages a single level 1 Phantom of them can heal 1-2 Black Dragons.

I have a question for one unit-only strategy.
How to fight fight enemy where there are gorguanas?
They cast mark of blood and then stoneskin is not enough to stop units from dying.
Should I cast dispell everytime?
Magic shackles may be uneffective because they have leadership limit and last short

EDIT: I just discovered a bug in the game.
I do not know if it was patched in later releases.
1. Have a free slot in your army.
2. Visit a CASTLE where good units are available.
3. Hire max units.
4. Put new units in CASTLE's slot.
5. Hire max units again.
6. Click on hired units you put in the castle before.
7. You have double of max unit number! Yeah!
You lose control of them, but it does dot make a difference as you can take unlimited number of knights to fight dragons etc
And computer plays for you

It's not a bug. Troops going out of control is a bad thing.

But if I am about to kill a specified enemy stack I can take UNLIMITED number of chosen units.
For example, I may hire 1000 knights for all dragon enemies and take nothing else.
My knights will just fight alone and their number and bonuses should do.

I must check what will be the result

EDIT: You were right. The game automatically finishes battle when only uncontrolled units remain.
Just when I thought I can attack the whole world with millions of peasants
