To both:
Armored Princess put saves in this location:
<UserDir>\Documents\My Games\Kings Bounty Princess\$save

Saves are .sav files in that directory.

<UserDir> varies depending of which Windows version you are using, but there's a standard way to find out:
1. Start Menu, choose Run...
2. Type cmd and press Enter. Command prompt window will appear.
3. In command prompt window, type ECHO %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH% and press Enter.
4. The next line displayed is your UserDir.

A wild guess would be that your saves are created using the Gift Bag mod, and you forgot to reinstall Gift Bag after reinstalling your computer. The vanilla game cannot read saves using Gift Bag.
