1909 Louis Bleriot makes the first crossing of the English Channel in an aircraft, taking just over 37 minutes 1915 RFC Captain Lande Hawker is the first aviator to win a Victoria Cross after defeating 3 German 2 seat observation aircraft in one day 2000 Flight AF4590 crashes on takeoff from Paris killing all 109 onboard and 4 on the ground.
