..... and to think that back in 2008 I was ridiculed for daring to suggest that SOW would not be released in 2009 but more like March 2010, that statement nearly got me banned, I guess it was becasue I was a year too early!!!

It was not. Most people said, that it's done when it's done and that there was no official announcement.

On the other hand, what got you almost banned was not the message that it will be delayed, but the fact that you and others insisted on estimates being a holy promise and took it as a personal insult that nobody would give a definite date and nobody excused himself personally for the delay. And let's not forget the hundreds of messages claiming that they could work this project out a LOT better than Oleg himself.

So let's not compare apples and oranges (again).

No one gets banned for bad news, but what goes around comes around, still.

Yeah you got a good point there Feuerfalke, I guess we should have learnt many years ago that any release date Oleg mentions should bot be taken seriously. So which month in 2011 do we think? Im going for September.

I really dont think that most people here are as "hung up" on the "dead-line/promises" issue...as a few verbal posters seem to be. But we will see...

lol and there he is !

tree_uk , meet feather_4, after you have a DNA check done to ensure you were not fathered by the same mongrul, i'd suggest you setup a date. if ever there were 2 with great promise of compatibility, its you to.

let me know your paypal account, i'll pay for the bubble bath soap (seriously !). dont be shy now, just let us know later how it all ended, we do want to hear the details

Zapatista, are you a troll? There are so many other ways to say you don't agree with a users comments, but at your rate you're gonna start a flame war.

And of course there'll be gloom and doom considering this sim has been put forward so much. After a while peoples tentions get strained. I, as I have always been, am of the opinion that it'll be ready when it's ready. That's all we can say. The rest is speculative.
Looking at Trees posts, there has always been merit to his madness, whether it's gloomy or not.

no there isnt

maybe in comparison to feather and tree you might seem half rational, but you dont seem able to count to ten either without using your fingers, and even then you cant quite add things up correctly

yes there was an original intended release date some years ago when BoB was going to be an evolution of il2. then 2 things happened, first a brand new game engine design was going to be needed, and 2e you utter ignoramus half of olegs team left and set up the crappy ww-1 sim with the dodgy flight models that was a flash in the pan a few months ago

so instead of supporting oleg's perseverance to push on in very difficult circumstances (including personal financial commitments to his project, its not "just a paid job" for him) to build something even greater and well beyond what ANY other flightsim company is making, or we can hope will EVER make, all that moronic trolls like tree and feather-4 seem to do here is wine and moan like 3 year old's who cant instantly get a toy they want

and there is NO major delay that has been announced by oleg to push back his intended release date for the BoB anniversary. its all just whining and moaning speculation without any hard information.

right now you have weekly updates, and evidence the sim is well advanced and in the process of getting together. if anything i think the information from the last couple of months is rather optimistic, its well advanced by all indications.

wew, and what if there is a month or 2 delay, is it worth all that moronic whining and bitching from the depressive twins and their juvenile little comments ?

wow you feeling under tension because a game is about to be released ? get a reality check sunshine, half the gulf of mexico is flooded with oil, the financial elite has just bankrupted the western world while they went on a feeding frenzy to feather their own nests, we'r at war with half the islamic world, and the global sea levels are rising while our "leaders" are shuffling the chairs on the deck of the titanic and congratulating each other. i really am not feeling ANY stress whatsoever if BoB is delayed by a month or 2 (if it is)

what i DO mind is all the moronic whiny crap being posted here repeatedly by the likes of tree and feather-4, because it is this childish selfish whine where they believe they will get a lolly if they just whine enough. with their constant thread-crapping they divert and distract normal discussions that should/would be focussed on making this BoB sim even better (since oleg and some of his team are communicating here with their fanbase, aviation sim enthusiasts and future customers)

Did I ever say I felt like that? No, I didn't, so don't walk before you can crawl.
i said this stuff would be inevitable, regardless of the sims history which I am well aware of and if you take the time to read all my posts here, or on other forums, i have continually advocated how anything pre 2006/7 should not be taken into account. But no matter about this, people will still feel that this sim has been long in the making and make jokes about it (jokes which shouldn't be taken to heart)

Oleg and co are doing a fantastic job, but there have been many false promises (system specs were meant to have been shown earlier this year, so was a website) and we are expecting thousands of players to be playing SoW in BoB season (or October at the latest).
If this doesn't happen, frankly I urge Oleg not to make promises that can backfire. I, frankly, could not give a shit whether the sim is released tomorrow or next year. It'll be ready when it's ready and I have lived in that illumination for over 3 years.

philip.ed out.
