Default SPM for JA3?

I just read an older article on a Russian website about JA3.

It says JA3 was for awhile being developed by Mistland:GFI(which later became Jazz: Hired Guns)

Anyways Mistland had made JA3 or (Hired Guns) to include SPM(Smart Pause Mode) and that's the reason why Strategyfirst cancelled their contract; because they wouldn't allow SPM!!!!

I think we should get a petition to send to SFI to ask specifically for SPM, because its obviously better than old-school turn based.

It seems like Strategy First has already sold the licence for the JA franchise to a German company:

Dunno what they'll end up making, but I hope they go the SPM way, it's far better and less frustrating than Turn based. But I have to say, JAZZ/Hired Guns' turn base system was well done(the only part that was) and something like that would not be so bad. At least the enemy turns won't make me lose interest and start doing other things while playing

Strategy First is however working on a JA game for Facebook, go figure.

Ya, I know about Bitcomposer. That's why I posted this message. We shoulnd't have to wait for Bitcomposer, the game could have been done years ago, but SFI wouldn't allow SPM.

So JA3, is guaranteed not to have SPM. Even xcom 3 had a form of SPM. SFI is still living in the stone age of retro software.
SPM is a step up in my opinion for many reasons. One is it allows for larger tactical encounters and smoother gameplay.

I'm almost tempted to buy the Russian version of Man Of Prey; because I don't think there will ever be an english version.

hehe, you're preaching to the choir here. I too find SPM far superior.

well i also was tracking the JA3 for a time but it simply got lost in the process. The hired guns thing looked good but it got me mad as hell for its mechanics: Once spotted everyone knows where u are - the baddest thing was that enemy ignores walls and roofs - i almost droped dead when the enemy threw a grenade like 60m away from me, from the inside of one building to the building that I was camped in. OMG Epic FAIL

Secondly while camping next to wall I got hit from the guy on the other side from the wall. OMG almost cracked at that point.

Silent operations? Not one, impossible, the minute you kill someone, the whole area is on.

Althoug this is a problem even by 7.62 but here there are still few things how you can kill silently although requires a lot of conditions to be succesfull.

S.P.M is better cuz you have nonstop influence on behaviour of your units in the fight.

And alt-fire less clicks. I like the npc logics during fights, they dont see you but at least they try to hide, camp, or shoot in the direction where they think you are camped. nicely scripted.
