A strange occurance....

Hey all,

I havnt played this game in over two months, got sick of the issues and went to play Eve Online instead.

Ok so, i came back and god-damn, i forgot how fun the game actually is. finally unlocked all the planes that dont require a stupid amount of wins in MP to get, including the acado-234.
I was pissing around with it, at around 2k feet dropped 3 bombs, then dived towards them with WEP on. You can actually see them bouncing off the aircraft, and if you pitch the plane properly, you can actually keep the bombs under the wings whilst being pushed down faster than their normal rate, and horizontally to.

I have heard of the arado outrunning bombs like this. I don't have the arado myself to test it out. What's interesting is you say the bombs bounce off the wings. I didn't realize they had collision detection with aircraft as I tried to bomb another bomber once and was sure they passed straight through it

Edit: I dropped bombs on another bomber while we were both at altitude, not while he was on the ground

I've seen bombs dropped destroy planes below as well as doing it myself in cta where I've hit the plane before it lands and destroyed it, ask KAV he unfortunately was underneath me the other night and it happened to him! I've had the outrun effect when I've dropped and then accelerated hard to get outof a dive and passed them yet even if they do contact you they don't explode. Yet another bizarre IL2 quirk!!

Have you tried it at alltitude gilly? I wonder if that has something to do with it. Let's test it later, I will get under the b17 bomb bay and u drop some to see if they connect

Well if the game hadn't been so glitchy, showing you off my tail whereas you seeing me directly above you and without doors open we maybe could have!! Not as much fun as the cta when I watched myself bomb someone from the ground after I had actually bombed him and you seeing the flaming wreck take off and climb!!! The joys of IL2!!!

Yeah that was mad. He was parked up on the runway and I dropped on him and his plane exploded. It then took off still a ball of flames, looped around the runway and dropped on you. Wish I could have got that on film!
