It's simple - Cyrus spelled 'Kir' in Russian. In English version of the game its 'Cyrus' i think.

ahan..now i know the story.
what a terrible information u have given me sneakie..in russian the name of our greatest leader is equal to one of the worst modern persian words...!!

Well, it's just the '-us' ending being omitted. Icarus > Ikar, Daedalus > Dedal, Horus > Gor, Odysseus > Odyssey, etc.

Well, the three books (four, but a fourth one is much inferior IMHO) aren't translated to other languages as far as i know. I guess the estimated sales are not enough for publishers to undertake such project (most characters in the books are Russian).
