Default What is your favorite WW2 Bomber?

Its just another thing I have been thinking about lately...

The fighters are given all the attention and glory while the bombers take a back seat!!!! You can either list your bomber and the reasons why...or just list a few! I am interested to see what you all come up with!! Here is my list in order of how I like them......you can use dive or level bombers.

1. B-25 Mitchell: Probably one of the most overlooked American bombers. It doesnt have a great deal of range, but it was very versatile..and hey...I love the way it looks!!!! It was a real jack of all trades.

2. Ju-88: Its got a very impressive resume..like the mitchell, it was very versatile...and I love how it looks!!!

3. Lancaster: In my opinion..its better then the B-17. And it looks like a Bomber! I really like everything about this plane...heck even the name sounds cool to me..I have no idea why.

Got to be the Lancaster. Not only is it named after my county but took part in some of the most epic raids- dambusters, sub pens at st nazaire and the raid on Tirpitz. A bomb bay of 33ft, the ability to carry the the 22,000lb grand slam and the noise of 4 merlins-which if anyone who's heard it will contest is one of the finest sounds known to man. Need I argue further...!!
Just a pity it isn't in the game.

Hands down for the lancaster. This should of been in the game, i mean they have planes i never heard of, a million 109 variants, a random jet plane and a rocket plane no-one uses, but not the Lancaster???? I was confused their for a minute, i thought this was supposed to be in the european theatre of war, were the lancaster was THE BOMBER!!!

Lancaster all the way. If that grandslam had been an unlockable that required 1000 strike match wins I would have been happy to plow through. That battleship on scicily coast would go down with one drop

Without a shadow of a doubt it the Avro Lancaster Bomber. It was a true bomber, and could carry an incredible payload, making it the ultimate heavy bomber. It could corkscrew, it could even be barrel rolled!! But on top of all that.... it has those 4 merlins.

A beautiful aircraft

1. B-25 for sure. Not many other bombers I know of had a 75mm cannon placed in them so they could blow up more shit. Just looks like it'd be fun to fly.

2. SBD. You're not getting there fast, or going very far, but for putting bombs on target, you're looking good. Even managed a few Zero kills during the war.

3. Ju-88. Same as Matt said, very versatile - like the B-25.
