Holy crap, I would have never imagined IL-2 has such a small following. Even Battlestations: Midway, and Ace Combat would always have room to join.

IL-2 is so unpopular I am the only person I know who has it

Birds of Prey is a “Flight Simulator” and as such it has a select (dare I say elite) few who are willing to put in the extra effort to actually understand what flying a WWII War Bird entails, from Air Combat tactics to the different aerodynamic properties of each plane. So unfortunately we do not have the large masses of “Arcade-Type” flyers, but you will find a small community of some of the finest online pilots you will ever meet.
