Try that in 1946 online. 99% of the players would avoid turning with you and your only action would be BNZ attacks to which you can't respond until someone puts the final nail in your coffin.

It's an entirely different group of opponents on the PC.

in realistic mode or sim the 153 can be fair
first this plane is really not solid:in sim or realistic if u try to fly with it "without great delicacy"(as me i can be idiot)for sure it is an engine failure!!i had 5 crashes in the game of 20 minutes because of it!
second :not much bullets can destroy him
and i find there are not a lot of bullets in the 153 guns
third:it is very slow!!!!!!!!!!
buy i m agree it is the best in tights turns and in arcade this plane is really a terror if u try to engage the dogfights with him !!never do it and maybe u will destroy this byplane!!
i thinks also that it is just a game, for fun,win or loose is not the question just have a great fun and try to progess
if someone like the 153 or spit or blenheim or others planes fly with them and have a fun!!!!

I shot down 6x I-16 and 2 x I-153 with a Hurricane in a single 10 minute arcade game.

The I-16 and I-153 can't perform certain aerobatics, such as retournements (rudder hard over and elevators up with aerolons level), usually ending up in a tumble.

It works for the Spitfire and Bf-109 just as well, but for best effect use a Hurricane. Both the I-16 and I-153 have zero armour, not that this matters as a retournment gives a good few seconds of shooting from above and behind with a good lead or target.

If that fails, just lure them up high, where they're both slow and clumsey, and nail them.

Like Foz say, skilled players treat both the I-16 and I-153 as either a nuisance or easy prey.

The I-16 and I-153 Chaika have armor. Whenever I fly the I-16, I can take loads of damage and keep the bird up in the air. The I-153, even more so.... maybe because of the wings? Anyway, the only Russian planes I can think of off hand in BoP with insufficient armor would be the Po-2 (The second biplane with no forward firing gun... obviously, and the Yak-1b which surprisingly holds up well when hit hard, but still doesn't have sufficient armor. )

To be fair though mate i could take a 747 into an arcade game and stand a good chance of winning. Arcade does let each plane have its individuality and what makes it great or bad. It makes every plane act the same - just gives them a different colour scheme or look.

That aside, what your saying is true.

I love dogfighting with fighters while in an ILx in arcade. Those forward guns are sweet.
