I just figured it out!!!!!! Under compatibility I had to select the "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" and it fixed it fine!!! Didn't have to do this on the RC, though that computer has a 9800GTX+ in it with different drivers so that may be it or something that changed from teh RC to the GOld version. Either way I'm now a happy man again.

I was just going to post that I have the same problem as Avatar. I will try the fix.
edit. It worked but now I can't change the config.ini. " Access Denied" Administrator problem I guess? How can I change my log in, as the Administrator? Last edited by Chivas; 10-24-2009 at 06:34 PM. |

Thanks mazex
I was able to gain access by right clicking on the onfig.ini folder/properties/security/and changing PC users permissions. I seem to be automatically logged in as a PC user with no option to change to administrator although I see references to my being an Administrator and PC user. |

Just to continue a bit... If you go to the IL2 top level directory and right click -> properties -> Security and look at the rights for the IL2 folder - which users have "full control"? It may be that you have an "old" dir from a previous installation and that "your" user (or the group "Users") don't have full control. Add that in that case. Another advice is to not install games to the "Program Files" directory as Windows 7 is a bit picky with normal users changing files in that directory. Therefore it's better to create a "Games" directory in the root (C:\Games) or whatever drive you use. If you at times get problems changing a file due to lack of privileges, you can always run notepad in "elevated" mode (assuming you are in the administrator group). Go to "Programs" in the start menu and find "Notepad" in the "Accessories" folder. Then right click it and select "Run as administrator". Then open the file you want to edit via "open" in the menu. That will make you "God" when you edit troublesome files ![]() /Mazex |

Mmm, have that problem too... Some friends just left us after a dinner and my wife just shouted to me "what are you doing at the computer now!?". Time to answer her in "elevated" mode? Nahh... It does not work all the time
