Question normal controll or joystick for starter

Hi folks I just orderd birds of prey for the xbox360. And I Don't really know if I should buy a joystick now. I came in contact with sturmovik by buying the pacific fighters expension for 1 euro at a fancy fair and never played it with a joystick. So should I use a joystick for the xbox version or just practise on arcade mode with a normall controller

and If you reccomand a controller please list the name and price

Edit: Yes I am a total new guy to flight sims and now verry little about the game and how it works on the Xbox360

Guess it would depend on what you are comfortable with.. Lots of players do very well with the controller. I am not one of them, I used to play this sim on the PC and used some quality sticks. It makes a world of difference! I was originally excited that i was going to be able to fly with just the controller, but alas, I cannot..
I just received my new Saitek X52(second one i owned) and I am patiently waiting for the patch comming out so i can use it! PS3 by the way.

Get a stick. It makes the game way more fun to play and it adds a touch of realism. I have the Thrustmaster HOTAS X and IMO it is the superior choice for value and performance. The Saitek AV8R3 pales comparison as it has less buttons, feels cheap and light, and is more expensive than the Tmaster HOTAS.

Now 1 more thing if you have time I never realy played pacific fighters long enough to really get to use all things and play at max diffeculty. And the engin management is confusing me is it easyier on the Xbox or is there some sort of guide(not in-game)

far less complicated on the PS3/360 then the PC. no engine managment, no magneto, no prop pitch etc..

Nope, none of that stuff. Well, the auto gunners still aren't the best marksman, but guess that's a good thing. Just imagine the amount of buttons on a controller and that's the number of functions you have . I'd advise a joystick btw, been flying a lot better with it than a controller.
