it is a SLI problem I did remove the SLI from nvidia drivers or controls and all was in order. Maybe it is the same problem with crossfire?!

Heu guys...I was having the same issue but got around doing this:

1) Validate the files in Steam - back to ver 1.05
2) once completed - restarted steam and launched CLOD
3) exited Clod.
4) applied patch files
5) launched and now working at v1.09.

might not help but worked for me.

Had the same issus. When I disabled my SLI i Nvidia controlpanel I was able to Launch the game. So If you have SLI disable it.

It does seem to be SLI it doesn't like. It needs to be turned off globally though, it didn't work when I turned it off for launcher.exe.

Cleaned cache, downgraded by Steam and working in 1.05
patch 1.9 applied and not working,
1.8 again and it works...

No gun sight reticule visible in the 109 when illuminated 100% although spilled lighting effects from gun sight very visible.

Try running the dotnetfx fix. Its in the redist folder
under the il2strumovik folder
