Me-262 Sure the engines had short life and a bad temper but damn good looking.
B-17 Missing half a wing and/or tail? no problem, you will still make it back.
Zero Just on the list as it would be a fun acrobatics aircraft and long range.

Let me pick one from each country, just to be different:
1) LANCASTER
2) P-51
3) IL-2 (A-10A of its day)

Sorry, but i really have no respect for Japanese aircradt, theirs just a feeling i have for them that makes me hate them.

Does the Me-262 engines flame out if you throttle up too quickly? Is there a prolonged restart on the engines? Can you control the engines individually?

THAT would be cool, as the origional Jumo 004B's were a biotch in flight/combat. It would keep you from running roughshead over your piston engined opponents.

Oh, the agony of choice! I'd love to fly a P-51, but they're the most common warbird, so I won't pick one of those. It's a similar situation with the P-40. Anyway, let's see:

1. F6F Hellcat - great, tough fighter. There are far too few left.
2. Ju-87 Stuka - Yeah, it was fighter fodder, but you gotta love that classic dive bomber (may have been overly influenced by the book Stuka Pilot)
3. A6M5 Zero - I know, most people hate it. But no one would be shooting at me, and it's great for acrobatics!

Oddly enough, I'd really love to have a Mitsubishi G4M Betty Bomber. I have no idea why.

According to the SWOTL brick of a game manual which quoted a me262 pilot whom I forgot the name of *shame on me* the engines couldn't be throttled up quick enough in case of a bad approach so when landing procedure began you were going down for sure, one eye on the runway and the other on the engine readouts.

Don't know about flameouts but in IL2 1946 they would very often be on fire if throttled up too quickly, seperate throttle for engine 1 and 2 yes, restarts could only be done while on the ground.

You have to blast it near where the wing connects to the fuselage. Since that's where the un-armored gas tanks were. If you just popped its wings and rear fuselage, nothing serious would happen. At least that's what Saburo Sakai said.
