Well after spending $2,000 on a new computer to play this game I am about to shelve it I think.

Since the patch I am getting constant freezes now, (more so in ground strafing attacks with the Hurricane) and getting "the program is no longer responding" when exiting via the task manager.

I have been flying (the original) IL2 since it's conception and was always impressed with succesive patches and DVD releases.

However, I am completely flabergasted, initially, that CoD was in such an abysmal state for release and now it appears to be going backwards down a path of far less the mediocracy.

I know this is a negative post, but my faith is rapidly waning.

Additions: mirrors are a physadelic experience, alternating between jagged flashes, black and white checks, plain black and just blank.

Even though AA is not working, it keeps resetting itself to 2 x AA and I keep selecting 8 x AA.

Tried to get the wingmen to land first as someone else said this was the secret for the idiots crash landing next to me. That didn't work.

Flying low over built up areas now more stuttery than with the last beta, that wasn't really stuttery at all.

etc, etc, etc that I guess have been reported ad nauseum.

At least the new rig has improved RoF out of sight. I have everything maxed out in that and it is as smooth as silk.
