This is how I would go at installing this patch: 1) Open steam, go to library, right click Cliffs of Dover, Select Properties and go to Local Files tab, click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache and let it run and download in order to make sure your copy is "clean" and updated to the latest official patch. 2) Go to \Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\cache\ and delete everything in the main folder, keep the shaders folder but delete everything inside. 3) If you want to be sure your conf.ini is set to default just delete it in \Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\ and it should make a new one next time you start up the game, you have to set your video settings again first time you start the game. 4) Download the latest patch and extract it to your desktop, then cut and paste all folders to \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\ selecting yes on any request to overwrite and copy and replace otherwise. 5) For ATI users go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\core\GUI\ and rename the intro.wmv to something different or just delete it, just be careful as it might affect VAC cheat protection in the future when playing online, so far there seems to be no problem to do this though. |

I didn't know about the other steps you mentioned (cache, etc) and now it's too late, I already installed the patch. I will try it next time About this patch... I don't know. Looks a bit worse over land. I remember having like 20/22 fps over London, medium settings. A few minutes ago I was over the country (no towns, just a few farms) and I was between 17/20 fps ![]() Good over sea, 45/55 fps stable, no stutter at all, even if I have many planes fighting q9550 quad 2.8ghz gtx 260 1732Mb 4Gb ram corsair SataII drives Win7 64 bit Latest nVidia drivers Screen mode: full screen - antialiasing 4x (PS antialias does NOT work for me, it never worked with all the patches, what am I missing?????) |

This beta still has bad water texture that was already in previous version. See the attachment.
If I change video settings, the game says it needs to restart. When trying to do this it always crashes. WinXP SP3, Q6600, ATI 6950 2GB Last edited by slm; 05-05-2011 at 08:41 PM. |

Hello, figured i'll add my two cent for the feedback.
Running 2 HD5770 in crossfire (1680x1050) i've seen a big improvement overall. With most setting to medium a bunch on high, vsync on, 2x AA (everything on except SSAO) the gain is approx 10 fps in every situations, its smooth over london, no stutters anywhere else. Doing 45 avg fps in the blackdeath. For the downsides i've found SSAO to be a huge fps drain (more than when on a single card) cuts about half fps, flickering on land shadows, some freezes when returning to the menu. A lucky beta patch for me, a shame it cause soo much problems for some. Thanks for the hard work your putting in this. EDIT:for me the load of GPU cores in xfire is symmetrical with both loads around 50% Last edited by Crimson Hog; 05-05-2011 at 08:00 PM. |

When there are ground fires with smoke, it causes all the cloud shadows to flicker and jiggle badly, and at certain angles, the clouds themselves will flicker. Everything looks beautiful, however, if there aren't any burning planes wrecks. I have Win7-64, single nVidia GTX 285 w/latest WHQL drivers. Using Russian version, full screen, Vsync box checked, SSAO unchecked, 8xAA, resoluton set to desktop res 1920x1200 59Hz.

Same here hardware is in the sig. Crossfire works when I play the Black death track almost 100% on both cores. In game I get 1/2 crossfire.

Always best to start from a clean point, I also had graphical bugs like yours but following these steps cleared it for me and made the game run smoother overall. Hope it helps. |

I have noticed that when I leave a server on steam that I have to go to windows taskmanager to quit game.. It is like it taking a long time to close.
I never had this problem at all until now. Just wanted to post here to see if anybody else is having the same issues. Thanks for your support. |
