Technical problems and bugs

Hi I am an Australian and I just purchased 7.62mm from Ebay Australia, the item came from Singapore.
Now every time I play the game, It crashes, and I get a message from windows saying "this game has done something very, very bad and we killed it".
I am about an hour into the game, in a shootout with some guards of the former mayor, but regardless of game position it crashes in every gunfight.
I used the German patch and still crashes.
I run max setting, I have Vista 32bit, AMD x64 2.7,
ATI Radeon HD 3870, 4 GB Ram, running on a Full HD 40inch screen at 1920x1080p.
