You can use the keyboard and the x52 pro by using the programing soft ware that comes with the x52. You just map the key you want in the game I.E. "g" for toggle landing gear then use the Saitek program to create a profile that maps a joystick key to "g". That way you can press either the keyboard or your joystick button.

I'm using the x52 pro modded to 18inch stick extention. I've taken the "twist" rundder control pot out of the stick and mounted it beside the throttle to use as a rudder trim as I have the rudder pedals as well. I also use the Pro Throttle quadrant as which has 3 axis for Prop Pitch, Mixture and Radiator. Except for the shape and colors you have all the levers that you would in the cockpit.
