? about Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel ???

can any of these panels, gauges etc work with COD?

Saitek Pro Flight Switch Panel

Saitek PRO Flight TPM System

would make the game so much more fun and easier than having tons of damn key binds.

thanks

I'm not sure but it looks to me that it should work. It probably just works like the extra buttons on your joystick which are assignable.

Maybe the following helps for you. I use a x52 pro joystick which can be assigned a lot of functions already. But for most functions I have also keyboard bindings which I have assigned as follows. For example, I use "q" for prop pitch. To set the prop pitch higher I use q+hat switch right and for lower I use q+hat switch left. The same counts for mixture which has "w" assigned. This way I have to remember only one key per function and all functions can be used in the same consistent manner. The same system should work with almost every joystick.

The only drawback with this system is that I can't assign any profiles to my x52 pro joystick because they don't work with joystick and keyboard combinations simultaneously.

What an intelligent solution!

Does anyone know if an MDF extractor can be used to move the cockpit controls to a small touchscreen monitor?

Well, this is how I solved the problem of too many keys to bind (although it took a bit of work :) ).
Couple of microswitches, toggle switches and Universal Joystick Controller BU0836X

using keyboard and x52

You can use the keyboard and the x52 pro by using the programing soft ware that comes with the x52. You just map the key you want in the game I.E. "g" for toggle landing gear then use the Saitek program to create a profile that maps a joystick key to "g". That way you can press either the keyboard or your joystick button.

I'm using the x52 pro modded to 18inch stick extention. I've taken the "twist" rundder control pot out of the stick and mounted it beside the throttle to use as a rudder trim as I have the rudder pedals as well. I also use the Pro Throttle quadrant as which has 3 axis for Prop Pitch, Mixture and Radiator. Except for the shape and colors you have all the levers that you would in the cockpit.

Yes, but that's not what I suggested and how it works in my case. If you use X52 profiles, you can't use combinations like "q+hat switch left" and "q+hat switch right". And using this method of binding makes it much easier and consistent to remember all the bindings. Besides, this way you don't run out of keys on your keyboard that easily.

However I use one X52 profile for binding the joystick to the F12 key to centre my TrackIR. The F12 key is just too far to reach without leaning over when my joysticks are on the table. I switch to that profile on the fly when needed. But that's besides the point. This thread was about managing your key bindings as easy as possible.

In my example of "q+hat switch left" I kept it as simple as possible because I think it's best that everybody comes up with his/her own key combinations. In that way I forgot to mention that I use "q+hat switch down" for automatic pitch and "q+hat switch up" for feathering the prop. This way you have already 4 bindings and you have to remember only 1 key for all things that have to do with prop pitch. This system works perfect when you keep it consistent for other functions (left=lower, right=higher, down=automation, up=emergency). I hope I've made myself clearer.

That's a really good idea! Do you know if it's possible to use more of these units simultaneously. The possibilities would be endless.
