It's a different engine in the Mk.II and they do have different methods.
Personally, however, I keep the rads closed just to heat up the engine a bit quicker. I know you're not 'supposed' to but I do it all the same, for speed, hence why I put it there. The pitch should be coarse really, as it stops the engine trying to pull the aircraft forward while on startup. That's just my logical standpoint.
