Ok we have a decision to make and put to the mission builders and to make their life easier

Can i just say i don't wanna be the one that bitches about the Mk2 all the time..my argument lies in the fact it was and has been left out and now its included because of a better Rof Cannon...the tit for tat attitude is good on a dogfight isle of doom map but not on the ATAG servers imo

This argument has nothing to do with RL performance it seems and what we've seen, read and played in the past


The options are:

1/ Obviously take the Mk2 out of the planeset...there wasn't a problem before so why all of a sudden is it causing problems now

2/ Take out the E-4 and the Spit2 IF the reason that it is here is because of the mineshells...silly as it sounds it really is starting to look like that

3/ Include all the aircraft..The Spit2 and the E-4 to be put back inland so its a journey to get to the channel, and if your just creating a plane to fly for 2 mins get in a dogfight, die and create another aircraft then that setup wont be for you...take yer Mk1-Hurri-E1/3.

Make sure each side have the same amount of AAA and is effective as it can be...how you can circle low over AF's picking off targets for more than 10-15 seconds without getting blown to bits astonishes me and needs to be addressed.

Make ALL AI bombers high..that way if you don't wanna be a dek monkey or you have a problem with the Low-Med Spit2's then you haven't got to play with them..If the battles are High @ 5-6k the advantages of the Spit2 are not so apparent, though i doubt many will go up there in their Spits the ones that do go high have something to do..

At the moment the mission with the Spit2 has them at frontline bases and then put the blues fav bird right on the coast with no AAA cover or lack off...this is what started this whole debate

these discussions always come up.. they did with the Pony/Dora/Ta & 25lb Spit in Il2..lets not even talk about the Russian birds but can we all just agree with one of the above so no one is surprised when they join the server as they were last night

They can then choose to fly on that server or not

Ok this is ridiculous. I was flying in ATAG tonight against an E1 with 23 killls to his name. I was diving for home from 17k feet, (after he bounced me) doing 340
+mph and he caught me like i was standing still and killed me. And I had a good head start on him. he killed me at about 7kfeet, and a minute or two later he was up at 17,000 engaging my squad mate. His name was MrX.

Now I didnt think the 109-E1 had such a climb and speed advantage over the hurricane rotol. If so bring back the Mk2's because now the 109's have a huge advantage.

Or is there something dodgy going on here?

Ok edit - this time took up a spit M1a, he was still in his E1, I engaged from higher than him and we both started booming and zooming - im fully lit up and he was out-climbing me by a factor of 2 on each zoom.

How can 109 pilots possible whinge that the Mk2 is unfair? The 109s are faster, they climb better and they dive better than all the allies planes! either that or this guy was cheating.

the bad old (and odd) days of Il2 are back with the same bunch of players acting identically (why they won't as they had the opportunity to act with total impunity for such long years ?).

I hope that COD Team will beef up the code protections that this stay things of the past.

Most folks are trying to establish fair play with porked FM, you just bitch about the Spit in any form - give it a rest or at least present some factual evidence rather than just flame posters.

Ok so what, is the consensus is then that he may well have been cheating with a modified plane code?

Sorry I'm new to the online play with this and with Il2 - I did think it was weird ive never seen a player online with over 25 kills and no deaths, plus he seemed to never run out of ammo and his planes climb rate and speed was off the charts.

If so what can be done about cheating?

25 kills and no deaths is not out of the ordinary.

Steam has the VAC system that should catch these people and they will have their accounts suspended or canceled (supposedly).

I don't know. I haven't come across a BF at high altitude (18K+) that wasn't a fair scrap against a Mk1 Spit. AFAIK, cheating on steam is protected. I will look out for it if that player is on.

No, it does sound a bit fishy, and from what I understand VAC does not instantaneously boot you if it thinks you are cheating, it takes a while. I am wondering if people are fiddling with the FM’s during beta’s thinking VAC will not be looking on Beta servers or Beta versions.

Very strange. In a rotol hurri I'm able to do alright against any 109. Granted they do climb a bit better, but not like what ReconNZ is stating.

I sure hope we aren't into cheating territory already.

That dedicated server SDK could come out at any time please!
