Only problem was that it sucked balls
Define designing in pacific storm pls? actually you are very confined in what you can do, leading to installing everything you can, wherever you can, whenever you can, as long as it is better/superior (though i modified the cleveland into a atlanta, watch the flak baby ).

Ja, Pacific Storm , not so great, but imagine the FM in CloD and fiddling with say engine size which might have an impact on speed, manoeuvrability , dive and climb speeds and the amount of space there is left for other equipment in the plane etc... o and cost.
Well, actually, I always wondered why they didn't fit the 109's with bigger fuel tanks in the internal fuselage of the plane and made a long range version of the fighter or fitted it with laminar flow wings. It would be great to figure out the trade-offs myself whilst flying the plane in CloD.
I also would in the current version of the game have my 109 rather fitted with 4 machine guns instead of the 2 20mm’s, but I want the trade-off in weight also to be reflected in the flight dynamics of the plane. That’s where I’m going with the upgrade my plane part of the suggestion…

If you really think that 2 MG17 with 500 rounds each are lighter the 2 MGFF with 60 rounds, think again.

I agree with the OP, the game seems to have been forgotten.

I'm having so much fun in ROF's career mode, I love the concept of the online/offline leader board, and I'd have thought that Clod's tie in to Steam would these type of cloud gaming services a no brainer

I don't mind grabbing a mission editor to make some thing for an online event, but off line I want surprises, so the content has to be generated for me, I'm not interested in flying missions I've made.

Stats are good. Gunnery stats, bombing stats, current streaks, it's all good.

Field mod are a cool idea too, I'd happily pay for a mirror on some planes, there's enough photo's of modified planes to make it realistic and feasible.

World of Clod is a great idea. Guilds and squads are not inappropriate analogue of each other, and most DF maps are no more than an aerial guild raid. Top ten scoring squads each month get the bragging rights of using their own skins?

I'd hoped that Clod would be a better game than '46, not just a sim upgrade with a restricted plane set.

There's just so much more to a good game than a climb speed chart, I think the dev team took quite a few wrong turns.

One of my first posts here asked for a dcg. I was quickly educated that even IL2 (original) when it was released didn't have a dynamic campaign generator, most of the content even for the original seemd to have been community generated before a dcg was then incorporated into the game, that's the info I was given.
But even then I use Lowengrin's dcg, much better than the "vanilla" IL2 1946 dgc.

But I more than agree, a dcg is a must for a game like this.

A great thing to download is the semi-dynamic campaing generator by the enlightened florist, install according to instructions and it works like a charm.

I personally think this is what is lacking and has been for a while, they seem to focus on trivial things while letting required stuff drop off the radar.
