Exclamation Attention!! New Beta Graphics DLL`s updated 01/31/2008

Greetings!

Allow me to present new graphics DLLs for v409b

You can download them here:

http://www.warwingsart.com/3_409Beta...9beta_dlls.zip

Thanks for hosting Monguse!!

Readme included in the zip file But i`ll post it anyways:

**********
Attention All! New version of DLL with corrections:

1) Corrected flashing blue spots on the plane while viewing from external view on the high altitude (error in calculation of fog)
2) Removed black dots on the coast lines that occur during foggy weather.
3) Removed red squares on the distance on the winter maps with LandGeom=3.
4) Removed Lines that were sticking out of the water on the distance.
5) Blue line on the horizon during foggy weather (LandGeom=2)

Flashing forests and coast lines are not yet corrected. Will be taken care of ASAP.

Thanks to everyone who participated in beta test and sent back reports!

**********

Please test and post back in this thread..

Installation: Rename currect il2core.dll and il2_corep4.dll to something else. Unzip new DLL`s into your IL2 Installation.

Note: This is beta DLL`s, if you dont want to participate in this test or not sure how to do it, might want to wait till the final release.

To report graphics issues, please contact me via PM. Things to include: screenshots, conf.ini and a short recording (NTRK) when error occured.

Thanks!

Thumbs up

As a quick comparison, here are my results from Fraps/ The Black Death. Detail settings are the same for both results (e.g.) LandGeom=3.

2008-01-24 13:12:12 - il2fb original 4.09b dll's
Frames: 6798 - Time: 150000ms - Avg: 45.320 - Min: 20 - Max: 103

2008-01-30 12:21:59 - il2fb 4.09b new dll's
Frames: 7212 - Time: 150000ms - Avg: 48.080 - Min: 19 - Max: 103

A little faster, and I certainly notice a steadier gameplay on & off line.
No artifacts noted, but I haven't really pushed the limits yet settings-wise.

I'm using an Ati x1950 Pro, 512Mb card on a 939pin x2 4600, 2 Gb RAM, 32bit XP Pro setup. I have a good quality 19" CRT monitor running at 1280x960x32 @ 100Hz refresh, and Vertical refresh (V-sync) is enabled hence the 103 maximum in the Fraps results.

So far this seems like a useful release and my thanks go to the development team for this upgrade

NV 8800GTS 640MB ForceWare 169.21, Perfect graphics settings, LandGeom=3

The new dll's introduce artifacting in various places, e.g. at altitude distant shorelines display a flickering black outline, switching between cockpit and outside view causes misplaced and garbled ground textures (stripes of land appear on the water and vice versa.

Can't say anything with regard to speed, as I run with vsync on.

Default issue with latest dll

CrazyIvan,

The latest dll shows a river running through the mountains in Italy.
The original is shows normal mountains.

Also, in general, the latest dll's seem to show a higher contrast or deeper color saturation.

Regards,
Bodkin

Hi CrazyIvan,

great work this dll.

Runs perfectly on a constant 60 FPS on my 8800 GT SLI rig (Quadcore and Strike Extreme, XP Pro)

No more crashes changing from 4.09 to 4.08..

However, as mentioned before there is a little glitch regarding the location of rivers. I noticed the same thing on the Okinawa map online: the river running over a mountain disappeared after a while. Might be overheating? ( those cards stay around 70 degree which is acceptable I think).

Keep up the good work and Many Thanks in the name of the whole community!

Cheers,

Eckhart
