Default New TO MOW AS GOTY - Have Questions :)

Hello Everyone,

I downloaded the MOW AS GOTY Edition last night. What a fun game! I have been playing COH since 2005, and, well, I need a break from seeing a soldier have a shell bounce off their head. LOL

Do you mind helping me with answering the following questions, as I am new to the series:

1. It looks like the GOTY Edition has 25 Skirmishes and 50 MP maps available to us. Great!

This is really a TWO-PART question: I would like to play ALL of these maps either a) on my own against the AI, or b) have a friend(+others) play along with me. Can you tell me how this is made possible? In other words, can I force the MP maps to be played as humans against AIs? Can we have it, like COH, where you can either close off a slot(s), or change that slot(s) to AI/humans? Say you have a 5v5 MP map, can I make any MP map a co-op map, and also toggle my five slot side to have a mixture of AI and humans, and even do the same on the enemy side? Or, scaling down my "ask", is it even possible to use the MP 2v2 maps have a friend and I against the Enemy AI?

2. Can you please direct me to the modding community? I want to play modded maps/missions/unit types, AND, want to learn how to modify my own maps/missions for single player and MP usage. Perhaps #1 (using MP maps for Co-op) is really a mod that someone has made? If the modding is the same in ease as the old IL-Sturmovik, then this will be a blast to mod!

3. I don't like being forced to play through the US mission(s) before being able to play the other five countries. Is there an unlock which allows me to play all 25 missions now?

4. The overview map has little dots for where the player's pieces are. Is there a better way to get a view of the overview of soldiers/units, or, is it just "dots" that we have?

Thank you very much for reading this and helping me out with what you can of my questions, above.

Regards,
Marc

1. There is no "player" AI for MoW, all PvAI is done through scripted missions. So that's impossible.

You have to play against a human opponent for any non-skirmish maps.

2. Modding community is at the DMS forums

http://digitalmindsoft.eu/forums/for...hp?101-Modding

3. you probably can play with the files, but I'd just advise you to deal with it since the US is a great faction to learn with since it forces aggressiveness.

4. The dots and arrows (vehicles, CSWs) system works well, you can adjust the map zoom in the settings

tracers for "bullets" are a nice bonus.

The points I listed above, and the silly munitions micromanagement are things that should be fixed in the game. Not too many people MP play this game, either. Of course, others, I will guess have said this in other threads.

In any case, there are many things I don't like about COH; therefore, no game is perfect.

uhm, MoW:AS is a micro intensive game, and most game AIs have no where near the intelligence required to properly play a game of MoW:AS, with proper scouting, metagame, etc.

Munitions micromanagement currently is part of the game that separates the good from the bad, in some cases. I find topping off ammo before sending a squad into combat is an easy, 1-shot solution. I just keep an ammo truck near my spawn and spend 10 seconds doing that.

Multiplayer for me is relatively populated, I don't see your point there. If you're expecting CoH levels, of course not. But there's usually 5-6 games in the lobby that I can get good ping in.

I don't see how the minimap currently is broken. It works great for me.
