Trouble is we have no Allied warship launched recon planes.
The Curtiss SOC Seagull would be a good one to have for the Allies, and the Misubishi F1M "Pete" for the IJN.

Personally speaking, the P-40 could contend on an equal footing with all the types of Messerschmitts, almost to the end of 1943.
