I'm very interested in your "amplifiers". Please note that you might need two big car batteries in series for the 24V, if only for the extra power when needed, for there aren't many cheap power converters that can handle the load of those motors.
I've thought of this too, but just a stick to the floor. But instead of using gears like the original I would choose cables for the forces, use a ball joint instead of the cradle, and underneath two forks connected to the pots on the base, the other side sliding over the steel shaft of the stick. Since I have three sets of two 12V FFB motors I would choose them to wind the cables, the ratio's would be dependent on the height of fixation on the stick shaft, which would be adjustable (just like the height of the pots btw).
I hope you're going to post some pics soon!

Pictures will come when im at 90%, need to make sure im completing it before posting pictures that then will have no value
My English for technical explanation aint to good. I know about the loss of some inertia because of the well its simple big aint doing good with small lol in this case.
My plan is to complete the mount and chair part of it. When i have that i know what i can improve. The converter to the engines is stolen from a small electric car made some years ago in Denmark called a "Ellert" That is made to operate 24V.
I cant say how everything will work before i sit in the chair, but if the main idea works full scale its just about trail and error to find the system that works the best. Youtube have some nice vidios about full motion simulation.
What i need to make sure of doing this is that i keep to the original idea about simplicity. If i can get this to work, and can keep the costs down, many would be able to just copy me and create there own spit or pony cocpit.
