Your Most Exciting CLOD Moments
For me it had to be the first Dornier I shot down in a hurricane, spinning round in the evening mist... or it may have been in a lone blenheim ducking and weaving trying to escape from a pack of 109's!
|
Not excitng, just enjoying the .. wonderful terrain, detailed meshes, realistic weapons etc etc etc
Boring me .. . |
When i killed Tree online
|
First time ever online and shooting down a fighter the same day. That was short lived then because I started a very long drought. Talk about beginners luck that's it. lol
|
Surviving a duel with the infamous MrX and getting enough rounds in him to score a part kill, later I went into a foray over Hawking where the guys on ATAG TS were calling for assistance with three BF's working as a group, I got some rounds into one and tried to do a runner feeling smug but Cheesehawk came along a killed me dead. It's been all downhill since then, but hey, things can only get better!
|
I shot down a whole group of 7 blens with a single 109 once, strafing them like a column of cars
tell me to do it again and i'll get shot down... i tried already another dozen times to do it again... |
Online on ATAG being bounced by a 109 in my Spit 1a and managing to evade his attacks and slowly turning the tables, then gettting behind him and give him a good burst that caused a severe fuel leak. He spun while pulling too hard and looking behind me I saw him in a flat spin and the pilot bailed out.
Funny thing is that "XX bailed out" message appeared on the chatbar exactly then but later I saw that "Bf-109 (IA) was destroyed by me" message, so I still don't know if it was a human flown aircraft or not, the way he flew and fought was not like IA at all, but if it was then it shows that IA in this sim can be quite lifelike. |

EvangelusE - nice one mate! ;) As for myself - I've had many good fights on ATAG and many exciting moments, long fights agains good pilots are always great fun (both sides). Most exciting was bouncing 2 Emils, shooting them both down in one pass. In a 109, dogfight against 2 Hurricanes and a Spitfire was very demanding, but the 109 is luckily powerful enough to keep the upper hand. Great sim! |
I get a kick out of it every time I strap a 110 to my butt and go bombing stuff! In the last few days I have taken out 2 persuing fighters with the bomb blast of an exploding freighter, it is a classic and surprises the crap out of them when their wings fall off for no apparent reason LOL!

The first time I've started the 109's engine, after I've installed the newest patch!
After that the takeoff was nothing to write about and during the rest of the flight I was cursing the game. |
Has to be installing , booting up and discovering it not only ran, but did so quite well.

Every time I vulch Hawking AFB killing enemy planes on the ground, taking off or prior to their take off.
I don't have the numbers but I estimate that 20% + of my kills are the direct result of vulching... It is always a blast to see all that Flak/AAA firing among with some dogfights around. Usually take off with a bomb (unless I'm using the E1), after destroying ships or ground units I'll go there to empty my guns BnZing, then I'll run home towards the French coast like a girlie dragging Spits and Hurries to be gangbanged by the rest of the LW heading England... Sometimes I'm the one that is gangbanged. :P Regards. PS: Today was looking for trains for about 30 minutes, then a single Hurri jumped me, I then dove to run (as usual) and as soon I reached ground level I couldn't believe what I've had in front of me... The damn train locomotive expelling tons of withe smoke, used a little rudder and Boom!!! I could see the flames surrounding my airplane as it passed by... I was lucky not being caught in the blast. |

Lol, getting killed is part of the game and I have no problems with that. Very often (like Krupi), I will stay with the plane untill the bitter end, even in hopeless situations. You guys did a pretty damned good job in that sortie and deserved your victories, BTW I did see you under my low 6.......about 0.5 sec before you pulled the trigger and it was a case of ....'oh shit! I'm about to be dead!' and I was!...... S: |

...waiting for the patch(es). :D
And almost every time I go online. There simply isn't a sim out there that can match this in the way it simulated the atmosphere of being there. Online FTW, getting better and better by every new patch. |

One of my most exciting moments was rising in a Spit Ia to escort a flight of british bombers coming back from France and finding a 109 systematically taking them out with his cannons.
I took my time to climb and get into a nice hidden position and then took off his elevators while he was lining up his next kill. Other exciting moment was forming up and flying with many other squadron mates during the Sunday campaign recently run. It's thrilling stuff just to know you're all player flown planes in formation. |

Shame I couldn't participate in the last two missions... |
the first succesfull start in the CoD Blenheim.

The other night on ATAG I climbed my Spittie 1a to 12,000, flew over to France, and spotted a 109 below. I snuck in behind him and in a rare (for me) accurate burst I took off his left aileron. My first bounce!
Too bad I lost sight of him after that only pass... Charlo http://i54.tinypic.com/2u5urua.png |
first time i hve to read MC is not a good pilot.

Peace dude ;) |
The other day me and my wingman Steiner shot down 2 Spitfires and 2 Hurricanes under a minute on ATAG whilst escorting Italian bombers to hit enemy targets over England. Quite exciting as we swept down on them coming from the sun, they never knew what hit them. Learned my wingman one or 2 things about gunnery and cloak mode
And both returned to base alive, that's what really counts. |
the most exciting moment was when i heard we will get an update (patch) which will optimize 8maybe) this game so it will be 50% faster...min
|
In ATAG I was caught by 2 hurrie and 2 spits (i was in bf-109) and as a result of maneuvers 2 hurrie fell to the ground and 2 spits collided in the air.

Last night on ATAG when I followed Popes advice and staggered my convergence, alternating between 200 and 300 metres, then proceeded to flame two Ju-88 and shred a 109!
Normally I have to use up most of my guns to get a kill; two planes flamed in a row with ammo spare to go for a third was beyond belief! Pity I overshot that 109 and lost sight of him in the dog fight! I guess he used one of the 109's historical advantages and had the 'will' to disengage with impunity! |

My most exciting moment? First time online! I'd recommend anyone who hasn't been online yet to dip a toe in - just have a go. Also, make sure you get teamspeak 3 even if you just listen in at first. |
Flying on the ATAG server i took a bullet in the engine when attacking a He111- i had to deadstick land at the base that was 11,000 feet directly below me. I screamed down in a tight spiral dive and suddenly saw a 109 and got hits on him as i screamed past. I kept heading down and sideslipped sharply to slowdown for the landing. Just as i straightened to flare for landing a bomb went straight past my cockpit, just about crashing into my lap, then 'pop, pop, pop' as cannon shells exploded near me and i heard a 109 roar past me from my six. I skidded to a halt and got out of the plane as quickly as i could- using my considerable experience as Luftwaffe bait i considered myself to be in danger.
I have no idea where the bomb came from nor if the 109 i buzzed followed me down- i was beyond caring! |
Awesome flying and detail in ship explosions
I was flying on the ATAG server and saw a axis bomber taking out a heap of ships. I was flying up behind him and watching the bombs hitting the ships. I was friggin amazed when the bombs went off and I saw all the bit and pieces fly up in the air with the explosions. Amazing details.
After filling up the bomber with all my ammo I decided to fly next to him and slowly moved my Spitfire over until my wing tip was over his. I knocked his wing tip and, amazingly, took his wing off, which caused him to crash into the ocean. My wing was all good so I landed safely. Amazing detail in the ship explosions and a pretty cool move to take out the bomber. Sometimes I get frustrated with this sim but other times I am just amazed at the detail. |

I was stunned when I pressed the brake lever in the Blenheim and I could actually see the Bowden cable attached to the lever. Then I was doubly impressed when I saw the pneumatic gauge flick upwards at the same time. Then I wondered why the prop pitch lever wasn't animated at all and I had to remember where I'd last put it. Strange combination of good and not so good, but I'll take it for now! |
