View Full Version : Joining / immediately leaving session problem?

Does anybody else get this? You look for a game, it finds one then says it is joining the session. Behind that screen I'll see a lobby with a few people in it, but it immediately kicks to "Leaving Session" and throws me out? Then every time I search for a game, it sends me to the same one that throws me out again. I'm stuck until that game starts so I can find another, then it'll work just fine. Gets very annoying when the game causing the problem doesn't start for 4 or 5 minutes, as there is nothing I can do to skip that one and find another.

I do have only one issue like that, but is only related to the host leaving the match because he sees i have a B-17. Rediculous.

Ive had what has happend to you only occur twice. never had it again since i first got it

Is the B-17 that superior in online play ? i would expect that a single one would be easy pray to a ME 262 and that eventually the Arado 234 would much more effective .

From what Ive seen of it the B-17 has the biggest bombs, is fast, and is armed to the teeth with turrets. So unless you actually have one on your team also, your pretty much screwed for a win.

Had it a couple of times too, then I just choose custom match, so I can choose from the list if there are other matches.
Might have something to do with the host having a bad connection and it can't take too many people?

This might not be because of your B-17. I personally often leave sessions when I make one, because a random person joins, while I just wanted to invite friends. If it has a low amount of max players then it's probably this.

Hope they add private matches in a future update.

Yea, the B-17 is a bit overpowered. I usually always set my team on A and if I pick the B-17, a lot of players will set it on the same team. I've won a match after just 4 bomb runs, while the enemy team barely did anything to our ticket.

Well i imagine that some Sonderkommando Elbe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonderkommando_Elbe) tactics will star to appear... probably better to lose less tickets by ramming the bomber then to actually let it fly unharmed to the target.

The Radar map thing also doesn't help to the surprise effect off an attack in sim.

Neither does actual RADAR. ;)

The joining/leaving can be attributed to;
A room just opened with the host still in the room settings page,
A room that has started a game and is counting down,
A game that is in the process of loading,
A game that is "in flight".

This only happens to me sometimes when trying to join a random host from the game search. Its never happened when I've been invited to a friends game. So I assume its a small bug in the game search. Often when its forced me to leave and I try the same game again straight away, I get in.

No I'm pretty sure the times Ive been made to leave a game and I can see in the background the names of the people in the lobby, then I try again and might get in with the same people in the lobby. The game is not started and has already been setup with people waiting.

What I see in the background will be a game with several people in the lobby, but not full, that hasn't started yet. I get it maybe two times or so a night (I'm not online too much yet, much single player left to do). It probably annoys me more because finding a game can take awhile anyway, so finding one you can't stay in is just cruel ;)

@ Both above;

Both of the things your describing can happen when the host is has started a game and its counting down. He can then cancel the countdown, and then you would be able to join the game. I myself have done it a few times while hosting, starting a game and canceling due to some players leaving during countdown.

You have to have some team effort to bring them down, the b17 gunners are leathal at least for me the times I had a go at one with my bf109

Im more mad at 3 minute strike games for the kiddies who badly want their b17's and ghost games that doesn't exist but the online interface says is still in the lobby phase

i find the best way to take them out is an almost head-on pass. With luck and and some gunnery skills you can take out the pilot much easier than the actual plane is to destroy.

Really? nobody has ever taken down my B-17 by taking a head on pass (well unless its a kamikaze mission)

The ONLY plane that i have recognised to shoot me down was a BF-109 G6

2 machine guns and 3 cannons! thats your best odds at shooting one of the B-17's down

Ah yes! that explains it perfectly. Thanks :)

I suppose it depends on your mode. Arcade its harder to kill the plane imo since all planes are pretty tough anyway. The head on pass works pretty well there. It would probably be a lot easier in Sim mode with a competent pilot in the attack.

its mostly realistic for as most dont opt for Sim. it still takes quite a beating in realistic and sim. for instance its not exactly going to have the same armour as a po-2 in sim
