First let me say, I really like this game. It has loads of potential, and is certainly one of the best if not the best flight game for any console (Over G is close, but I think BOP edges it out). The big problem is flipped controls. I would love the ability to customize the controls, but at this point, by far the biggest thing is to flip the sticks; the right stick should be ailerons and elevator, with the rudder and throttle on the left stick. Please tell us that you're planning to patch this capability to the Xbox 360 version! It would be a vastly more intuitive setup for most of us.

ETA: Yes, I meant left stick rudder and throttle. Thanks.

you typo-ed, ( you said right stick twice ) but I understand what you meant and totally agree.. they need to allow switching sticks functions... right stick flight control left stick rudder and throttle.

I've read that the ps3 control options allow the use of the shoulder/bumper buttons as yaw controls and then the r3 as a camera rotation control. Why would/did they not port this to both systems ?

not a great solution perhaps, but you can get saitek pad for the 360 that allows you to configure the way you asking...much as the ps3 has with the thrustmaster

Yes it's true. But that's why I bought a flight stick for it. So I wouldn't have to deal with pressing R3 all the time:rolleyes:

If this is the case i'll be happy. I would still prefer a stick but will wait it out for a fix on the deadzone issue as well as the hat switch issue.

thats is indeed the case.
And it is a much better layout...but it does have two little urks that mean i tend not to use it. 1st, throttle defaults to 55% with no input, if only you could use trigger to set and leave that be terrific.
other issue, and the most important for me, is there is no zoom. im not bothered about target lock zzom...but i need to be able to look closer down gun sights.
if but for those two things, it be perfect

Guys,
i was out and noticed the thrustmaster mappable controller in a store...so i bought it on a whim...and it will do everything you have all been asking.
ok, its not great that you have to buy a new controller....but if you think the game has long term appeal to you other than the controls, its a must buy.
so far i have just swapped right and left stick function...and swapped L3 for the triangle ...so now i just hold triangle to get free view and move stick....works great.

I highly doubt it, but can you map the rudder controls to the triggers and the throttle to the bumpers? Can you make it so you do not have to hold down the right stick for look around? Thanks.

like i said, i have already switched the L3 function with the triangle.....so you hold triangle to free look instead of holding down the stick.
havnt tried the trigger and bumper...but have swaped all functions from left stick to right stick so im pretty sure you could do that.
EDIT...actually, im having trouble doing what you asked with bumpers and trigger...so maybe not
SECOND EDIT....i was trying to map rudder to trigger and throttle to bumper...that didnt work. But yes you can map rudder to bumper and throttle to trigger BUT, seems the stick still retains the original function too...you may be able to get around that by then swapping it with a dead fuction switch...i donno, just have to play with it.

seems you can also get to have same fuction on two inputs...i have now got guns on trigger and push right stick....seem to be able to shhot straighter with guns on stick

you also get a second trigger (in form of a button) for both left and right....you can map these to different functions and leave the trigger as it was

So Devs--any comment? It seems like the ability to remap or even just a couple other configurations would really help. Most games these days have more than a single control scheme, and the one chosen isn't really very similar to other games out there, so it's not very intuitive.
