I've been thinking, and been playing a lot on BoP. And to me, it seems you unlock more planes on the Single Missions, than you do on Campaign? Is it just me, or do you unlock more on the Single Missions. So far, I've unlocked the Macchi 202, FWA5, La-7, and I think I unlocked the Yak-9 on Single Mission? On Campaign, it seems you already fly the plane your going to unlock at the end of the mission. I've been playing through campaign on Realistic and Sim, and haven't unlocked anything new when I get a better score on the mission in either Realism or Sim?

It seems to be that way. Right now my message box is filled with everybody asking the same questions. I am not sure if the planes are based on score or what because I did a single mission on realistic and scored 1486, yet a friend did the same single mission on sim and got 2087, yet I got a plane and he didn't. The devs really need to give us some kind of concise answer as to what unlocks the planes. BTW, and I saw this several times, playing through on arcade the first time just to unlock planes, especially after talking shit on this board for a month about how everybody is going straight to sim and are super awesome BoP players, well, that's hypocritical and cheap. Anyway, they need to give us a solid answer pretty soon before everybody just gets frustrated and leaves.

I am proud of myself on this front. I immediately went straight into sim mode and didn't look back. The first mission where you fly the IL-2 I dropped down to realistic because I couldn't find those stupid tanks in the streets for the life of me. Then I immediately went back and beat it on sim and beat all the rest on sim without dropping down. I did play a bit of arcade capture the airfield with some squadron buddies just for kicks. Other than that though, Arcade has not touched my box.
You can check my xbl username for my sweet achievements: pedrothegoat because I know everyone is dying to know. /sarcasm
Now if people would actually not be scared if sim mode online, then I would be a happy Goat.

Pedro... I am scared of sim mode atm... but that will all be taken care of next week when I get my ace edge...
I can't stand the controller layout on 360... I have absolutely horrid left thumb controll... I hate the press and hold to look around.. ( should be a toggle ) by far the biggest issue is the control sticks... why no southpaw??? grrrrr, I am a big FPS gamer on console and every single one does aiming on the right stick... BF1943's flying controls with the sticks are much better... but thats only because you fly with the right stick and controll rudder with the left. in BOP they need to allow you to swap sticks functions! this is the biggest complaint so far... sim is imposible to play for me on the controller, since the look function needs you to keep the stick pussed in...
Also one HUGE THING.... is the throttle controll and ruddre on one stick... I end up constantly having to check my throttle while using the rudder.. Mainly this is much worse because of the sticks being opposite of the way I like to controll everything...
Seriously... if I was a real pilot, I would refuse to fly a plane that makes me controll the flight manouvers with my left hand, while my right controlls the throttle...
If anyone wouldn't mind playing a closed server and teaching basic formation flying etc once I get my ace edge add me up on live.. UPS says It will be delivered by the 10th... I will not touch sim mode untill then besides flying one mission in sim with the controller so I can actually land the plane and get that achievment since the hotas has no brakes in sim mode.
