Albeit I'm not one of the die-hard flight sim fans out there who are gaurunteed to love their joystick controls, I would like to point out that with the PS3 controller they haven't done a perfect job, but they have done a great job. For a good 6 months now I have used my PS3 controller, with the help of some third party programs, on any sim game I come across, whether flight or space or otherwise. The first thing I noticed about BoP's configuration is that compared to my 1946 PS3 controller configuration and some space sims, the controls are almost identical. Aileron and Pitch with the left, rudder with the right, and in 1 space sim game I also had the throttle on right. Weapons on the shoulders, commands on the D-Pad, and the most necessary configuration buttons for the right side face buttons.

Now I made all these configurations pre-BoP and I have to say, they came really close to my configuration of all of my flying games involving my PS3 on the computer. So they aren't making these controls hard, they are doing their best to make it comfortable. Now if you just turn that blasted in-game sensitivity down, the controller is quite enjoyable, that is, to me who doesn't need a joystick to feel completely immersed in a game. In 1946 You stick me in a quick mission with 5 or more enemy planes and I most likely fare fine in my 2 stick under-button wonder, and no I don't skip out on realism settings.

Just got to remember, the fact you don't have a joystick doesn't mean you suck and you don't have to fork over another 40 or alot more to get a joystick to be 'good' at the game. Good is defined by me as being exceptional at what you do and in your own way, not by the society standard.
