View Full Version : Removed Content

Kinda had an idea that might solve a lot of issues ppl are raising about content that has been removed due to making the game appeal to the "wider community". So i guess this is more directed towards Anton to see if this is a viable option. OK here goes:
Content that has been removed to give more arcade feel, such as red/black outs, crash landings/take off's etc etc, Could all be bundled together to form a sort of "Simmers" DLC package. Then customers have a choice of how much realism they want in Birds Of Prey.
Not making the price to expensive obviously depends on paid staff working on extra content if it was needed, but then the fans would have a choice, and i think most fans on here would be willing to pay a little more to get what they want from Birds of Prey, as long as they are not paying for something that isn't worth the money. Most will agree... realism is worth that bit extra.
Thanx all, what's your opinions about this suggestion?

Sounds like a good idea to me. I had no idea there were no black outs in the game... not even from extreme high altitude?

I like the idea I would pay for DLC for a higher realism. If it wasn't supplied in the release version.

Yeah for another thread it was said there was slight screen colouration but the actual red/blackout effect was removed, along with structural limits on aircraft i think, but dont quote me on the structural limits thing i might be wrong but i think the testers called it a bug LOL (maybe the testers were non simmers) but it certainly would be great to have it in.

You are right. I asked Anton if we could over stress the wings and he said it was removed.
A Simulation DLC would be a great idea.
-red/black outs
-overstressing the plane
-shooting your own tail off when using the turrets
-first person turrets
-crash landings

Could this actually happen ? Or is this just wishful thinking here. Cause, that would be great dlc !

This can only be answered by Anton, ofcourse he would have to ask publisher if he could tell us if it would be future DLC.

Do we have to send him this in a PM and ask him directly or will he look into it from this thread?

He does not want pm's sent to him he will not respond to them, if there is a question asked he will do his best to answer it on the forum.

Ridiculous isn't it. A publisher has to sit behind his desk with his little calculator and rely on "testers" to tell them if something is too complex for a console user. Apparently all the testers were little 8 year old girls. If anyone had a clue "complex" features could at least be made an option to turn on or off.
All the publisher cares about is making money. They apparently have no common sense knowing there is a mix of arcade and sim folks out there. Anton stated previously the publishers didn't even want a sim mode included. lol.

I like it the idea, just that I worry this game could turn into just buying DLC's left and right. Which I wouldn't like. So maybe (Wishing) that a sequel to come out, would be better because not only would we get another Il-2, but we'd get a new story with new planes :D

Like LBP? At least new planes would be more useful than hundreds of costumes. I would like to see a way to add custom skins to planes, maybe upload to a website and download ingame, with optional shareing of skins.

There is, but its limited to a choice from a number of skins that have been put in the game already.

Well as long as i can get my spit Mk II in the correct green/brown scheme it should be in, then I'll put aside the fact that the cannons version wasnt acutally used untill the final month or so of the battle.
