I spent the last two weeks monitoring "Ace Edge" auctions on Ebay and finally purchased one at a great deal. Seeing as we are all on the same team here I figured I would post some helpful tips.

Tip 1- Use different key word combination's to ensure you get all current auctions that are available. Don't just rely on "Ace Edge" to find them all
- some examples would be "flight stick controller 360" "flight control stick xbox 360" "Ace Combat 6 xbox 360 and controller"

Tip 2- Read the WHOLE auction. One auction I was really excited about was missing the cables for the controllers... that wasn't mentioned until the very end after about a page of blank space. Another said it was for Xbox 360, but the picture showed the Playstation 2 model

Tip 3- Check often. I saw a number of one day auctions that came and went

Tip 4- Buy it with the game if you can. You can sell it on Ebay or whatever and defer the cost a bit

and finally

Tip 5-BUY ONE ASAP! Word is getting out and the prices are going up. When I first was checking them out a awhile back, I remember seeing one go for around $60 (just the controller and used, but still ten bucks more then an Avi8tor...)

Hope this helps, and good luck!

I just bought one off eBay too.

A "used three times ever" bundle for $106. Not a smashing deal but it sure beats Amazon's prices.

Those are all really good tips for buying anything on eBay, but I just can't justify spending that much money on a used joystick. When you consider that the Ace Combat 6 bundle retailed for $140 and you subtract $50 for the game, $5 for the faceplate, and who knows how much for the dvd, that leaves $85 max for the stick brand new.

Considering for that same $85 you could buy one of these (http://www.amazon.com/Saitek-X52-Flight-Control-System/dp/B00030GSJY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1250026747&sr=8-1), I really can't see myself spending that kind of money. Thanks for the tips though, they'll really help out anybody that decides they really want one of the Horis.

Hmm, I spent about 20 minutes on ebay after I decided I wanted an Ace Edge to play BoP with (and 1946 since it's also PC compatible and I don't have a HOTAS) and found an auction with Ace Combat 6 and the controller, just without the original box. The buy it now price was $50!!! I was very skeptical... too good to be true obviously. But I got it and it's perfect! I spent $50 + $13 in shipping and I got an Ace Edge.

Basically, definitely check often. Some people still don't know the apparent value of the Ace-Edge.
