So I finally got home from out of town and sat down with the demo. Now, I only had about 20 minutes with it, if that, but I really gotta hand it to you guys.

I'm a HUGE fan of the original PC series. It's actually one of my favorite games. Ever.

Anton and the gang, you've put together a nice package for the console version. The arcade mode is not for me, in fact I can't stand it, but it's really important to have it there so novices, kids, and people with different tastes can enjoy the game and you guys can make some good sales numbers. The simulation mode, although not as intensely hard core as I'd like it to be, is still great, and I actually like the immediate action elements of it. Although I love super complex physics and damage models and all that stuff, honestly my biggest gripe with the old series in single player is that I spent most of the thing on time-forwarded auto-pilot. So with a few setbacks, there are actually some great changes.

I really think it's crucial to have these different settings, Arcade, Realism, and Simulation. I truly hope this paves the way for a franchise, so that eventually the Simulation mode can put even the PC versions of the game to shame and you can really make a name for yourselves in the console world in terms of authenticity.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go order a flight stick so that online I may "pwn n00bs" upon the game's release.

I completely agree that the three modes are a huge plus. I believe this will enable people who are not sim fans but are attracted to the game the ability to have fun right off the bat. Many people will then graduate to the next mode looking for more excitement, challenge, and depth. Kudos to the devs that made this happen. One question I have is will the multiplayer see people from the different modes playing together or will there be separate games?

In the same game would not work. Arcade mode allows you to go at ridiculous speeds, never stall, and have aim assist. That's friggin god mode against someone who plays sim ;)

That's good to know. Does anyone know how I could put myself into a three week coma to help with the agony of waiting?

Find the highest mountain in South Park, burry yourself in the snow, then freeze yourself. But make sure that take a friend with you so he can remember where you are and unfreeze you in time to get the game. Oh, and make sure you're not in an avalanch zone.:-P
