Will there be the option to lock the view in sim mode?
The nose cam clearly gives you nearly twice as much FOV. I prefer to fly in cockpit but given the choice would go with nose as there's just too much of an advantage to it in MP.
Please discuss.

You'll also need to lock out the planes that don't have cockpit view.
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it's not too many. The nose view does not give me the feeling of flying a particular plane, if you understand what I mean. It just feels generic :(

While it hasn't been confirmed, I would imagine this is limited to bombers for the most part. We shall see.

I'm not sure on this one, the cockpit view feels way more restrictive than flying a plane does in real life. Obviously I've never flown any kind of warbird so I'm thinking of the cockpit view of civilian sims vs their real life counterparts but it's like flying whilst peering through a letterbox, you have no peripheral vision. I agree it's a lot more atmospheric to play with the virtual cockpit though and that's how I'll try and get through the single player campaign.

All I'd like to see is a host option to lock the view. If not then I'll join everyone else and play wonder women style.

I'm not sure too (not being a hard-core flighter anyway)
I started of course with the cockpit view and never use (in any flight game, like AC6, OGF) the virtual cockpit. However, a few attempt to simply land the plane in sim mode/cockpit view was near impossible. Couldn't see a damned thing (silly me)
So i thought, let's try virtual cockpit. Well, first time land was spot on.
Then i noticed as well how BEAUTIFUL the game was. In virual cockpit you really see a lot of action going on in the skies. Stuka's dive bombing the harbour etc. Beautiful. All of that is a lot less in real cockpit view (partly because look-around is a pain, even with the stick it still is not that easy).
So ... that's what is bothering me a bit. Take virtual cockpit and things become more easy AND more beautiful .... but also, yes, more GENERIC and less immersion
I think for SP i'll go for virtual cockpit but i wouldn't mind a HOST OPTION in MP which restrict to 'cockpit view only'
my .02 cents
I've been having the same feelings. Usually, durning the course of play, I have SO much trouble finding the other aircraft I'm supposed to be killing (this is in sim mode of course). So I use the virtual cockpit to locate them, but I actually find the real cockpit to be more steady and to really let me 'feel' the plane as I'm attacking, so I've been getting more kills in that cam.

Now that I'm use to no cockpit I'm just as good as flying and feeling the plane as cockpit view. TBH thats a problem for online play....unless you can lock it.
