Arena Mode(Suggestion....DEVS PLEASE READ)

I want to request an Arena Mode like Over G Fighters has.

Basically you take off from a base in the somewhat middle of the map. There's boku enemy planes flying around all over the map scattered about doing patrols. Your job is to just fly and kill as many as you can(fuel and ammo is limited to realistic amounts). When you are running low on fuel and/or ammo, you head for one of the two air bases or the carrier that is patrolling the waters to the north(if you have a plane that can land on carriers of course).

Save your progress by landing successfully at your base. Time limit while in the Arena is unlimited, or limited to fuel/ammo consumption/use.

This mode would also be great for coop. 4-8 friends take off, practice flying formations, practice dogfighting against the AI, and just have fun flying together and shooting down Germans.

There could even be some enemy bases, heavily defended by air and ground forces that you can attempt to destroy with bombers.

Imagine flying in the Arena Mode with 8 friends, and you send 4 bombers to take out the AI base and 4 fighters to provide escort. or, send out 8 fighters in formation to clear the skies. What ever you want......it's just a huge open map for you and your friends to spend all the time you want flying and killing Germans.

it's a very good idea! infact if you set no enemies or few enemies you can make formation flights with your friends and try some attack techniques.
The best thing would be a full mission editor but I think that it could be very difficult have it on a console...

Well (this is just my assumption there) you might be able to fly with no enemies on a PRIVATE online match. Nearly every MP game has this setting so you can play w/ friends. All you need to do is set to Dog Fight and have everyone work together for formations.

But other than that this idea is AWESOME! But seeing has how I'm on a roll with my speculations :P

If you look at the demo, on the main screen, there is an option that says "TRAINING." This could very well include something like a free-flight option so you can get the hang of things, but I would LOVE the inclusion of having to go back to base for ammo and fuel as that would add to the immersion factor x 100000.

Anton did state you can use the training just for free flight. But if you host a private match you should be able to do what you want, there would be no AI.

Well 18 people so far like this idea. I'm disappointed that only 18 people have voted. Come on people, cast your votes. Post your comments, suggestions etc........Lets get the Dev's attention.

I mean how hard could it be for them to add a feature in MP where you stack up one team with up to 8 planes, and the other team has AI? I know they can do it. Throw in extreme simulation(ammo, fuel, damage, physics) and you have one hell of a game mode, and it is a simple solution to coop. Add ground targets, a few friendly and enemy airfields, some flak cannons, maybe even a fleet of ships out at sea......

The possibilities are endless as to what they could do with an Arena Mode. This would also be a good way for clans to practice dogfighting manuevers. The AI could even be set to random patrol patterns, or to engage your team like Human players in a multiplayer match would. Over G Fighters had a feature in Strike Mode where you could go head to head against an AI plane or up against 4 planes. It only had the ability for singleplayer, but it did let you choose your starting altitude, their starting altitude, your starting bearing, as well as the starting bearing of the AI. Also allowed you to choose the starting distance from the enemy. I use it to practice evasion techniques, and engagement techniques from various angles of engagements so when I go online, I'm prepared for any situation. Practice going up against 2 planes on my six oclock high, or 3 planes at my 12 oclock low......approaching head on, or chasing them, or being chased.....

yes, doesn't mean CO-OP isn't a must. I would love to buy it, but i think new goalie equipment is more...vital per say...

Trust me when i say it did. I'm just saving up for priority 1, which is not this game.
